ROOTED AND RECLAIMING
From living trapped in chronic survival mode to finally experiencing true physiological safety without reliving your
deepest trauma to heal it.Â
Your nervous system has simply spent years learning how to survive.
Rooted and Reclaiming is a trauma-informed somatic healing pathway designed to help you move out of chronic fight, flight, freeze, and fawn responses and into a life that actually feels safe to live inside.
So you can stop:
- bracing for the next emergency
- carrying the invisible weight of hypervigilance
- over-explaining your boundaries
- abandoning yourself to keep the peace
- feeling exhausted by simply existing
And finally begin building:
- physiological safety
- nervous system regulation
- deep self-trust
- grounded boundaries
- restorative rest
- healthy relational connection
THE TRUTH NO ONE EXPLAINED TO YOU
You may have spent years trying to “fix” yourself.
- Reading the books.
- Listening to podcasts.
- Going to therapy.
- Trying mindset work.
- Trying to stay positive.
- Trying harder.
And yet your body still feels:
- unsafe
- exhausted
- reactive
- tense
- emotionally flooded
- unable to fully rest
Because trauma is not just something that happened to you.
Trauma is what happened inside your nervous system when your body learned it was not safe to relax.
Which means healing is not about forcing yourself to “move on.”
It is about teaching your body that the danger is no longer happening now.
That is the work we do inside Rooted and Reclaiming.
Enroll In Rooted And ReclaimingTHIS IS WHAT SURVIVAL MODE CAN LOOK LIKE
Maybe you:
- feel guilty resting
- panic when someone is upset with you
- struggle to say no without physically shaking
- feel emotionally numb one moment and overwhelmed the next
- constantly scan for danger or rejection
- over-function for everyone around you
- feel emotionally exhausted but unable to stop
- cannot remember the last time your body truly relaxed
You may look “high functioning” from the outside.
But internally?
Your nervous system has been carrying an unbearable load for far too long.
And eventually, survival mode stops feeling like survival…
…and starts feeling like your personality.
WHY HEALING HAS FELT SO HARD
1. Talk Therapy Is Only Part Of The Equation
You cannot cognitively reason your body out of a trauma response.
You may intellectually understand your patterns while your nervous system still reacts as though danger is present.
Because trauma responses live in the body — not just the mind.
2. You’ve Been Treating Symptoms Instead Of The Nervous System
Burnout.
Insomnia.
People-pleasing.
Chronic stress.
Gut issues.
Emotional flooding.
Hyper-independence.
These are often symptoms of a nervous system stuck in chronic survival activation.
Until the nervous system feels safe, the body keeps sounding the alarm.
3. Your Body Learned That Boundaries Were Dangerous
Many trauma survivors learned:
- safety came through self-abandonment
- love required over-functioning
- conflict meant danger
- saying “no” risked rejection
Which means boundaries do not just feel uncomfortable.
They feel physiologically unsafe.
Inside this program, we gently begin rewiring that response.

A Unified Front for Your Family
Therapy to heal the root. Coaching to build the routine.
A sanctuary to hold the process.
This is The Haven Collective.
We don't just treat the symptoms. We heal the entire ecosystem.
At The Haven Collective, we know that true, lasting healing requires more than 45 minutes on a clinical couch. It requires a multidisciplinary approach that addresses the neurobiological root of trauma, provides the logistical coaching to change daily habits, and offers an environment where the nervous system can actually exhale.
To achieve this, we have assembled a powerhouse leadership team. By bridging master’s-level clinical psychotherapy, specialized educational advocacy, and actionable family-systems coaching, our team provides a seamless, "cradle-to-flourishing" pathway for your family.
Meet the experts leading your healing journey.
Jennifer Thumm, LPC
Visionary, CEO & Clinical Director
Jennifer is the architect and clinical engine behind The Haven Collective. As a Licensed Professional Counselor with deep, ongoing post-graduate specialization in infant, child, and family mental health, Jennifer built this ecosystem to solve the exact problem exhausting today’s families: the massive gap between clinical therapy and real-world application.
Uniquely dual-credentialed with an extensive background in Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education, Jennifer speaks both the language of the nervous system and the language of the school district. She understands that a child’s dysregulation cannot be "managed" by behavior charts—it must be healed through somatic safety.
As the Lead Facilitator for our clinical immersions at Haven Family Farms, Jennifer takes therapy out of the clinic and into the pasture. Utilizing animal-assisted interventions (including our quarter horses and therapy dogs) and regenerative nature-based practices, she guides neurodivergent and trauma-affected families out of chronic survival mode and into deep, measurable connection.

Whether she is leading a Track B Coaching Retreat, facilitating our digital group coaching cohorts, or helping parents establish functional boundaries at home, Angi provides the accountability and psychoeducation families need to sustain their growth.
Additionally, Angi serves as the mastermind behind the logistics and hospitality of every single physical immersion at Haven Family Farms. She ensures that from the moment you step onto the property, every farm-to-table meal, cozy lodge detail, and scheduling transition is seamlessly handled—so you can focus entirely on your family's healing.
Lisa Shaw, LPC, CADC
Lead Clinical Trauma Specialist
Lisa brings profound clinical depth and unwavering steady support to The Haven Collective. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), Lisa specializes in the heavy lifting of deep trauma resolution.
Lisa handles the clinical complexities that keep individuals and families anchored in the past. As our resident EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) specialist, she expertly guides clients through the neurobiological rewiring of severe trauma, PTSD, and the painful family dynamics of addiction recovery.
Operating as the Co-Lead Facilitator for our Track A Clinical Retreats and Family Intensives, Lisa provides the clinical safety net required for clients to process their darkest moments. Her approach is deeply empathetic but grounded in evidence-based reality, ensuring clients don't just talk about their pain—they actually resolve it at the root.
We Refuse To Overwhelm Your Nervous System
Most online programs encourage binge consumption.
But trauma survivors often enter healing with a sense of urgency:
“If I can just consume enough information fast enough, maybe I can finally feel better.”
The problem?
This often overwhelms the nervous system and increases dysregulation.
That’s why Rooted and Reclaiming uses a clinically informed paced-delivery structure designed specifically for trauma recovery.
We prioritise:
- integration over overload
- regulation over urgency
- safety over pressure
Because true healing cannot happen in a flooded nervous system.
