YOU ARE NOT FAILING AS A PARENT

Most parents are trying to raise emotionally regulated children……while carrying a completely overwhelmed nervous system themselves.

You may love your child deeply and still feel:

  • emotionally exhausted
  • overstimulated
  • reactive
  • guilty after yelling
  • overwhelmed by meltdowns
  • constantly stuck in survival mode

Not because you are a bad parent.

But because no one taught you:

  • how the nervous system works
  • how co-regulation shapes behavior
  • how trauma impacts children
  • how sensory overwhelm presents
  • how attachment affects emotional safety
  • why traditional punishment often increases dysregulation

So instead, you end up:

  • walking on eggshells
  • trying every parenting strategy possible
  • questioning yourself constantly
  • feeling guilty no matter what you do
  • trying to stay calm while completely overwhelmed internally

Deeply Rooted Parenting was created to change that.

THIS IS WHAT NERVOUS SYSTEM DYSREGULATION CAN LOOK LIKE

Maybe your home feels like:

  • constant emotional intensity
  • unpredictable meltdowns
  • sensory overwhelm
  • power struggles
  • emotional shutdowns
  • endless overstimulation
  • emotional exhaustion by the end of every day

Maybe you:

  • feel triggered by your child’s reactions
  • lose patience faster than you want to
  • feel guilt after yelling
  • struggle parenting neurodivergence
  • feel emotionally touched out
  • dread public meltdowns
  • constantly question if you’re “doing damage”
  • feel exhausted carrying the emotional weight of the family

And maybe underneath all of it……you are desperately trying to create safety for your child while never feeling safe inside yourself.

WHY NOTHING HAS FULLY WORKED YET

1. You’ve Been Parenting The Behavior Instead Of The Nervous System

Behavior is communication.

Tantrums, shutdowns, aggression, sensory overload, emotional flooding, avoidance — these are often nervous system responses, not manipulation.

When we only focus on correcting the behavior, the dysregulation underneath remains untouched.

Which is why the cycle keeps repeating.

2. Your Child’s Nervous System Is Borrowing Yours

Children regulate through connection.

Your nervous system becomes the environment their body responds to.

Which means:

  • stress is contagious
  • calm is contagious too

If your body is operating in chronic survival mode, parenting becomes exponentially harder.

Not because you are weak.

Because physiology matters.

3. Neurodivergence Is Often Misunderstood

Sensory overload is not defiance.

Overstimulation is not manipulation.

Many neurodivergent children are punished for nervous system responses they do not yet know how to regulate.

Inside this program, you’ll learn how to understand what is actually happening underneath the behavior — and how to respond in ways that create safety instead of shame.

Meet the experts leading your healing journey.

Jennifer Thumm, LPC

Visionary, CEO & Clinical Director

Jennifer is the architect and clinical engine behind The Haven Collective. As a Licensed Professional Counselor with deep, ongoing post-graduate specialization in infant, child, and family mental health, Jennifer built this ecosystem to solve the exact problem exhausting today’s families: the massive gap between clinical therapy and real-world application.

Uniquely dual-credentialed with an extensive background in Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education, Jennifer speaks both the language of the nervous system and the language of the school district. She understands that a child’s dysregulation cannot be "managed" by behavior charts—it must be healed through somatic safety.

As the Lead Facilitator for our clinical immersions at Haven Family Farms, Jennifer takes therapy out of the clinic and into the pasture. Utilizing animal-assisted interventions with our quarter horses and therapy dogs, gardening therapy,  and regenerative nature-based practices, she guides neurodivergent and trauma-affected families out of chronic survival mode and into deep, measurable connection.

A significant focus of Angi’s work is helping individuals heal from narcissistic relationships and patterns of emotional and relational abuse. When appropriate and permitted, she can also provide in-person accompaniment so clients do not have to navigate an intimidating court experience without support.

Through Facilitated Communication Coaching Sessions, Angi provides a structured, trauma-informed environment for difficult conversations between adults. She helps participants slow down reactive communication, establish boundaries for the conversation, identify the issues that actually need to be addressed, and communicate in a way that keeps the focus on clarity, respect, and productive next steps.Whether someone is trying to heal from a narcissistic relationship, navigate high-conflict family dynamics, prepare for court, strengthen boundaries, or have a conversation that feels impossible to have alone, Angi provides steady, practical, trauma-informed support for the next step forward.
